Sometimes you feel like a nut
Well, here it is, my ornament for our 2007 Holiday Ornament Swap:
A walnut. Bizarre? Perhaps. Unexpected, well yes, considering up until Sunday night I was planning something completely different...but sometimes you just have to give in to your inner nut. So there you go.
In other holiday news, I got a very unpleasant surprise when my holiday cards arrived back from the printer...they gloss coated both sets. They are so glossy I can see my reflection in them. Nothing against gloss coating...it has its purpose and place...just not on my holiday cards that I had envisioned a beautiful matte. I called the printer, and by the time they are reprinted and sent to me it will be way too late to sell card sets, (it kind of already is,) and even too late to send holiday cards to my own list of recipients, so lesson learned. Next year Kathleen will have her designs done early (perhaps I will start right now!) I may just print a few cards on my own printer to send to my list, or I'm thinking of doing a very eco-friendly email card. I'm sure Al Gore would approve!
Have a nice Tuesday everyone!

What a bummer about the cards!! Those printing places are pretty good about screwing up orders huh. Seems like every time I order rounded edges I get square and then have to wait an additional 2 weeks for what I ordered.
Anyways cute NUTS!!
xoxo,
Jennalou

Bummer about your cards. I work at a stationery company by day so know how that can be. I love the ornaments though!!!

Agh what a mess about your printer. I'm sorry that happened but it sounds like you are not nutty from it. [sorry for the pun}
You at least can know that your walnut ornaments are FABULOUS!!
I like your idea of an email Christmas card, very smart.

Ugh. Sorry about the printer issue!! :p That is always so frustrating when a little hiccup in the process happens!
Maybe I'm a nutcase, but I love those walnut ornaments! How quirky and original!! :)

I really like your walnut ornaments. It is nice to go for something different. I'm sorry for your cards but as you said christmas e-mail cards are good for the environment :)

I love these! My grandmother made decorations with actual walnuts, and these are just as lovely.
Huge bummer about the cards. I hope you can sell/send them next year?

Put some cards in your shop, you never know! The cards I almost got rid of have been my best seller and people are always commenting on them :) and to think I almost used them as scrap paper.....

I love the walnuts! Are they stamped, freezer stenciled?

Cute nut ornaments. These reminded me of the ones we had on our tree when I was a child. My mother made them with actual walnut shells.
