Hi Kathleen just popped here through your Flickr pages via the Briar Press forum - was rather gobsmacked at some of the responses to your question about your press - (but not surprised when I saw who most of the venom came from, that is why I lurk and don't post). I just wanted to say, hello, I am learning to use a UK model of printer a bit like yours, (Lord knows what that Forme person would make of my efforts!) and I was very interested to read your experiences and the (sensible) responses you got. I think it's because of people like us that letterpress might stand a chance of surving in the 21st century instead of dying on its feet thanks to the antiquated and outmoded views of some people. Just had to say that, 'cos I was quite miffed at your treatment back there on the forum. best wishes, Gretel :)
