Please
Take care of your pets. Yesterday evening, I was taking a stroll around the neighborhood with Cooper, a black dog began to follow us, and kind of joined our "pack." We checked his collar—no tags—and as cars whizzed by, I took hold of him, and decided to take him home with us for fear he would be hit.
We fed him and then walked him around the neighborhood, talking to neighbors and knocking on doors, to see if anyone knew where this dog belonged. Two people said they had seen him running around stray for about a week—oy vey! Since our tiny home is pretty full with Oscar and Cooper, we couldn't keep him, so after posting a few ads we took him in to the Nashville Humane Society this morning. They have a really nice facility, and I know they will either find this sweet dog's owner, or find him a good forever home.
It makes me so sad when I think of what circumstances might have led to this poor dog running around stray and tagless for a week without food. He has a really calm submissive temperament, and just wants to be loved. If you are in the Nashville area and recognize this dog, or are interested in adopting him, please contact the Nashville Humane Society.
Now its back to work for me. I am hoping to have a chance to try out some of my new paper samples on the letterpress later this week...so stay tuned! Happy Monday friends.

I hate people sometimes. Why would anyone let that dog just go?! He looks so sweet and wonderful. If I was closer, I'd scoop him up myself!

I can't believe that someone would let that cute dog run loose. Then again, since moving to TN, I can't believe how many people do just that - let their pets run loose.

What a sweet face - and it is probably even sweeter when he is comfortable in his surroundings (which I imagine he wasn't completely considering you were/are strangers). I wonder about people sometimes - I would give anything for a dog but can't have one in my current living circumstances and then some people get them and then neglect them.

The area near where I keep my horse is used by a lot of people as a dumping ground for pets they don't want, so my friends and I have wound up picking up a lot of abandoned dogs from the roadside. I actually saw one of the dogs furiously running after the people who had dumped her, trying to catch up with them. It made me furious -- wish I could have gotten the license number. (She wound up in a lovely home with people who value her.) Anyway, kudos to you for rescuing him from the street! You're good people!!!

Please people...tag your pets. I am a stray magnet and there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to find a dog or cat's owner.
I'd take the dog but my hands are full. Good luck.

Well done for looking after the dog. I am so pleased that that people take the trouble to look after stray dogs in the USA. We have useless people here as well.(UK) There are good people who care but lots that don't.
